I have Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS on my Lenovo T14 Gen 1 laptop. In general it works pretty well, but I have been having an issue with the "tap to click" feature of the touchpad not working after I suspend the computer and open it again.

Usually a system restart fixes the issue, but not 100% of the time. Also, sometimes when I see this issue the touchpad seems to get much more sensitive, but the rubber mouse thing isn't affected. Neither are the other methods of left or right clicking.

Also, just to be clear, the "Tap to click" setting stays turned on when I see this issue. Toggling this setting does not fix the issue. The only fix so far is to restart the computer.

Ah! I was able to solve my own problem very quickly after posting this despite having this issue for a few weeks.

This is the solution. In case the link dies, the issue is that I needed to change the "Sleep Mode" option in the BIOS from "Windows 10" to "Linux".

This also fixed the other issues I had with suspending my laptop and waking it up after closing it. I don't know why sleep mode is OS dependent just for this laptop, but hey, at least the fix is simple. RIP to you if you dual boot though
